About Naru Core

Most
outdoor sports entrepreneurs
are good at what they do.

The problem is not in the product. It lies in the space around it.

A story that isn't quite sharp enough. A company that slows down as soon as the season grinds to a halt. Growth that remains dependent on one person, instead of a robust system.

That is not a lack of ambition. It is a lack of guidance that provides direction, establishes structure, and makes growth manageable.

Toon is a designer and marketer who not only gives the company a boost, but especially the entrepreneur himself.

— Heleen van den Bos, hang gliding instructor and entrepreneur.

I am Toon van Haren

I studied Industrial Design at the ABK Stuttgart. Specialization: Man and Mobility, how people and systems get moving, and where they get stuck.

That question won't leave me alone.

In 29 years at TVH Design, I applied it to more than 236 brands. From startups to publicly traded companies. I know how brands are built. What creates momentum. And what looks good, but doesn't convert.

Parallel to that work, I started coaching after my own sports career. Wakeboarding and snowboarding. Swimming. Endurance sports and mountain biking. Four disciplines. One insight: people don't grow by doing more. They grow when the structure is right and the direction is clear.

That also applies to companies. Naru Core is my answer to that insight.

I know the rhythm of the seasons from the inside out

Wakeboarder in action as an example of experience and storytelling within marketing in the outdoor sports industry.

Active in adventure and outdoor sports since the early 1990s. As a coach, guide, organizer of events on land and in water, and as a consultant for federations and non-profit organizations.

In 2010, I organized the International Board Battle, culminating in an indoor wakeboard event at the Leipziger Messe. That is where sport, organization, experience, and brand activation came together.

I know what is at stake when things aren't going well. Not as an outsider. From the inside.

Naru Core is not an agency

You are talking to me.

I ask the questions that are uncomfortable. Questions that lead to the real problem. Not the problem that presents itself first, but the layer beneath.

Depending on the assignment, I engage regular professionals. People I know, and whom I bring in because they are exactly right for what your situation requires.

Not someone who happens to be available, but the one who fits best.
